Code of Conduct for Parents, Carers & Supporters 

The essence of good ethical conduct and practice is summarised below. This has been produced to safeguard children and young people and to reduce the risk of being accused of improper or unprofessional conduct.

Parents and spectators should ensure that ;

  1. The child has written consent to attend the activity including emergency contact details, medical conditions, disability information, special dietary or care needs and allergies.
  2. Inform the coach of any factors that may impact on the child’s participation.
  3. Read the player code of conduct and discuss with the child.
  4. Encourage the player to learn the rules and stay within them.
  5. Discourage arguing with officials.
  6. Accept officials judgements.
  7. Help to judge good performance not just results.
  8. Recognise good sportsmanship and applaud the performance of others.
  9. Never force your child to take part.
  10. Always ensure your child is dressed appropriately, has the correct kit and plenty of fluids.
  11. Use correct and appropriate language at all times.
  12. Never punish or belittle a child for poor performance or making mistakes.
  13. Always collect your child promptly at the end of each session and inform the coach if you have arranged for someone else to collect your child.
  14. Support your child’s  involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.

 

Code of Conduct for Young Players (U18)

 Every child attending an activity organised through Chevrons Netball Club is required to abide by the following code of practice.

  1. Always play to the best of your ability
  2. You should always play fairly and within the rules
  3. Be a team player
  4. Good sportsmanship at all times
  5. Shake hands at the end of each match
  6. Thank the umpires and coaches
  7. Don’t answer back or be cheeky
  8. Support each other
  9. Respect everyone around you
  10. No pushing or fighting
  11. Don’t throw the ball in anger
  12. Any problems talk to your captain or your coach
  13. No gum
  14. No jewellery
  15. Hair tied back
  16. Short finger nails
  17. If you are ill or injured you must tell your coach
  18. Always bring warm clothes (layers to remove)
  19. Plenty of drinks
  20. Wait with coaches until parents arrive at the end of each session

ŸInappropriate behaviour which goes against this code of conduct will be discussed with parents and may result in future involvement in activities being refused.

 

Code of Conduct for Senior Players

Every player attending an activity organised through Chevrons Netball Club is required to abide by the following code of practice.

  1. Always play to the best of your ability
  2. You should always play fairly and within the rules
  3. Be a team player
  4. Good sportsmanship at all times
  5. Shake hands at the end of each match
  6. Thank the umpires and coaches
